India’s Sakshi Chaudhary made a strong start at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, advancing to the women’s 51kg boxing quarterfinals with a dominant 5-0 victory over Botswana’s Lethabo Modukanele.

The 25-year-old boxer controlled the bout and secured a unanimous win on points, booking her place in the next round of the CWG 2026 boxing competition.

Sakshi is making her Commonwealth Games debut after moving down from the 54kg category, where she competed for five years. To earn her place in India’s CWG 2026 squad, she impressed during the selection trials, defeating top Indian boxers including Nikhat Zareen and Minakshi Hooda.

With a convincing opening victory in Glasgow, Sakshi Chaudhary has moved one step closer to a Commonwealth Games medal in the women’s 51kg boxing event.
